BJ Fogg, PhD is an American social scientist who is a research associate at Stanford University and author. He is the Founder and Director of the Stanford Persuasive Technology Lab, later renamed as Behavior Design Lab. And now, you can find BJ as one of our Educators in our FMCA Health Coach Certification Program!
“We give people hope when we give them realistic expectations. We help people see and feel success.” – BJ Fogg, PhD
In 2009, Fogg’s research interests moved toward human behavior, specifically into health habits. This brought him on a journey to create a new set of models and methods that comprise what he calls, “Behavior Design.” In January 2020, he shared his studies of practical uses for Behavior Design in his New York Times Bestselling book Tiny Habits: The Small Changes that Change Everything, which is now part of our required reading list at FMCA!
Last week, BJ closed on a 3-part empowering workshop series as part of his lecture on “Tiny Habits” for our core curriculum. This exclusive event was attended by over 200 graduates who participated as a virtual live studio audience, as one of the many perks of joining our Alumni Program after graduation. Discover what our alumni got out of the event!
“A HUGE thank you to FMCA for bringing BJ Fogg’s amazing workshops to us! I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 workshops, so very inspiring and motivating and aligned with the amazing FMCA program. The Tiny Habits Method – anchor a moment with a behaviour and then celebrate (ABC) – is simple and easy! I’ve already incorporated this method in my own life and am now using the Tiny Habits Method with my clients, and they love it, especially when they don’t have time in their current schedule, and/or they’re unmotivated. Thank you for going above and beyond and sharing extra content with recipe cards! I’m excited about seeing more of BJ Fogg in the future at FMCA!” – Parveen Johal, FMCHC, NBC-HWC, Class of March 2019
