Functional Medicine Health Coaching is growing around the globe! The Functional Medicine Coaching Academy (FMCA) represents the gold standard in Health Coach Certification, and our acceptance as an approved program and our relationship with international partners helps us to better serve our students and alumni in each region.
FMCA is an approved training program by The UK Health Coaches Association (UKHCA), and as we grow globally, we are starting to see more students come from the United Kingdom and other English-speaking countries outside of the US!
In a recent webinar, FMCA’s Director of Admissions, Jen, and International Relations Coordinator, Mahnaz, explore what our UK Functional Medicine Certified Health Coaches (FMCHC) are doing with their Functional Medicine education.
Meet our alumni who are actively working as health coaches in the United Kingdom:
Daniela Cook, FMCHC
Daniela Cook is a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, a Naturopathic Nutrition Advisor, a Certified Gluten-Free Practitioner and Autism Support Certified Coach. Daniela is also the founder of Positive Health Space, an online coaching practice aimed at empowering and supporting parents of children with neurodevelopmental issues such as ADHD, Autism and Learning Difficulties. Parents working with her comment that they go from feeling like their children are missing out on childhood to being hopeful for a future of happiness and potential.

Katy Allen, FMCHC
Katy Allen has been through her own personal health journey which led her to a desperate need to find out the ‘why’ behind being chronically ill for most of her life. It was only when she saw a Functional Medicine doctor who asked her about her childhood, career and relationships that she realised there was so much more to work on than just managing her symptoms. Her Functional Medicine doctor, Jess Braid, encouraged her to pursue her passion of helping people make a difference in their lives by joining the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy. Katy is now a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach helping people grow healthier, happier and more empowered!

Stuart Carter, FMCHC
Stuart Carter is CEO of 3 Trees Community Support Ltd, a care provider for adults with learning disabilities based in Bristol, UK, and the founder of The Healthcare Coach.
Stuart’s passion is to enhance quality of life whether it be for him and his family, the services that his company provides, the staff who deliver those services, or for anybody else who’d be willing to undertake such a journey of self-discovery. His 2016 diagnosis of Ankylosing Spondylitis (an autoimmune condition) was the catalyst for his newfound passion.
Stuart now applies his Functional Medicine Health Coach training to support employees at 3 Trees and offers coaching to anyone willing to enhance their health and wellbeing. Stuart primarily offers coaching to those within the health & social care sector as he recognises that those who care for others often forget to take time to care for themselves.
