About Robert Luby, MD
Since joining IFM in 2015 as a Director of Medical Education, ROBERT LUBY, MD has contributed to multiple training and educational programs. Additionally, he has been instrumental in the development of IFM’s Strategic Plan and the Functional Medicine clinical, research, and education Standards.
Most recently, he has spearheaded multiple collaborative initiatives with institutional and academic stakeholders (including institutionally customized case conferences), initiatives to strengthen the evidence base of Functional Medicine, and efforts to bolster the clinical skills of Functional Medicine practitioners such as the Autoimmune Guide, the Mentorship Program, and faculty development.
Prior to joining IFM, his past teaching affiliations include Harvard, UMass, Tufts, Boston U, and the University of Vermont medical schools. Dr. Luby holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Dartmouth and received his MD degree from Columbia University. In 2013 he was inducted into the first class of IFM Certified Practitioners. Outside of IFM, Robert might be found contemplating the nature of philosophy, the philosophy of poetry, and the poetry of nature.
