For four years, Terry Wahls, MD was confined to a tilt-recline wheelchair with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis. Dr. Wahls is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Iowa, where she teaches internal medicine, sees patients in a therapeutic lifestyle clinic, and conducts clinical trials. She is also the director for extended care and rehab service at the Veteran Affairs Iowa City Health Care System. She hosts the Wahls Protocol Seminar each August in Iowa, where she lives with her wife. Her son, Zach Wahls, is the author of the bestselling book “My Two Moms.”
