Health coaching is a supportive collaboration between coach and client, that centers the client and allows the space to explore self-awareness, tap into strengths, build confidence and experiment with lifestyle behavior changes to improve overall health and well-being.

How does health coaching help people?

Health coaching supports lifestyle behavior changes such as nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management using evidence-based approaches like Motivational Interviewing. Through guided conversations, goal setting and accountability support, clients build motivation, develop healthier habits, and overcome barriers to change.

How is health coaching taught at FMCA?

Health Coaching is taught through a combination of behavior change theory and practical coaching practice. Students learn core coaching theories and methods such as Motivational Interviewing and Positive Psychology and practice them in small live coaching labs. The curriculum integrates the principles of Functional Medicine to help our future coaches support clients in making sustainable lifestyle changes through a root-cause approach,
