Introducing the FMCA Podcast Industry Leaders
Finding the Balance of Health Coaching in the UK | Monday, June 20, 2022
Dr. Indra Barathan graduated from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, London, in 1997 and worked as an NHS GP until 2015 when she opened her specialist functional medical practice to provide personalized functional medicine consultations. Indra now has one of the few multi-disciplinary practices in the UK and her team comprises doctors, health coaches, nutritional therapists, and a psychiatrist. Indra's passion is helping her patients learn how they have got to where they have got to and what they can do to help themselves shift towards vitality. She loves supporting patients with complex medical needs, hormonal problems, and gut issues. Her mission is to educate the world about functional medicine through her practice, her free webinars, group care, and the Festival of Functional Medicine which she launched in 2021.
Caring for All the Healthcare Stakeholders: Patients and Staff | Monday, June 20, 2022
Jabe founded Melbourne Functional Medicine after seeing gaps in current healthcare approaches that often led to poor health outcomes. Recognising that healthcare could be done better, he created our collaborative model of care that united patients with functional medicine practitioners and health coaches to provide a deeply transformative healthcare experience.
Since its inception in 2017, Jabe's focus has been on validating this approach, with great success. Now, with a well established clinical team practicing this model with hundreds of patients, Jabe has shifted his focus to leading the clinical team to deliver the best healthcare experience for all patients, as well as overall excellence and growth within the business. He is also a sought after speaker in the functional medicine space.
With a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine, and ongoing training through The Institute for Functional Medicine, Jabe stays at the forefront of the most recent health research. When he isn’t nerding out over health research or focusing on business excellence and growth, Jabe is probably annoying his children, reading some trashy fantasy novel, or playing board games.
