FMCA Now Offering 6-Month Accelerated Health Coach Certification Program

We are excited to introduce a new accelerated path to becoming a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach!

In the past 10+ years of training health coaching leaders through our flagship Health Coach Certification Program, we’ve received a tremendous amount of great feedback from prospective students, students, and graduates.

One notable piece of feedback was a request for certification in under 12 months. We’re thrilled to now be able to officially fulfill this request!

FMCA’s Accelerated Health Coach Certification Program delivers the same NBHWC-Approved, gold standard, training as our 12-month program, but in a focused 6-month format. This new option is designed for students who are ready to fully commit to a more intensive program, with the goal of becoming an FMCHC as quickly as possible.

Students in the accelerated program receive the full FMCA experience, including:

Expert-led functional medicine education
Live Coaching Labs for real-time skill development
Hands-on coaching practice with feedback
A comprehensive curriculum designed to build confident, capable health coaches

The curriculum structure is accelerated to support this pace. Modules 1 through 12 are delivered two at a time each month, allowing students to progress efficiently while still mastering the material.

The accelerated format is ideal for those who can dedicate approximately 20 hours per week to coursework, practice, and live sessions.

It is a more intensive experience, but one that allows students to build skills quickly and take the next step in their Functional Medicine Coaching career sooner.

Accelerated Program Timeline

Our first accelerated cohort begins on September 1, 2026, and will graduate on March 5, 2027.

Modules 1-12 are delivered in groups of 2 each month (instead of one per month in the standard
program).

Frequently Asked Questions About The Accelerated Program

Is FMCA’s Accelerated Health Coach Certification approved by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC)?

Yes! This version of our health coach certification program is approved by the NBHWC. Graduates who meet NBHWC’s requirements will be able to sit for the the NBHWC Exam to become a Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. Learn more.

How much time will I need to dedicate per week to this program?

We recommend that anyone who enrolls in the Accelerated Health Coach Certification Program prepare to dedicate around 20 hours a week to coursework and your Live Coaching Labs.

Is the program tuition different?

No. Tuition is the exact same for our flagship 12-Month Certification Program and the 6-Month Accelerated version. Tuition discounts and special offers are the same for either program track. Is the accelerated curriculum still developed in partnership with the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM)?
